While it may essentially be an artificial marker, the New Year is always a favourite for making large resolutions and commitments, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing. While we all know people who've made New Years Resolutions and not stuck to them for even a week (and we might even have done so ourselves), we can still take advantage of the calender change to make some great advances to the quality of our lives.

Rather than go the whole 2015 resolution/ goal setting angle – we've already had a couple of 5 Tips on Goal Setting, after all – this 5 Tips focuses on some small habits that can make a really big difference to our enjoyment of the year ahead. These are easy to put into practice, but you'd be surprised how often we forget to follow them - so it's worth writing them down somewhere you know you'll see them on a regular basis. Here's to an amazing 2015!

Time Out – make time for the important people in your life and the stuff you enjoy.

Develop and Grow – becoming and being is more rewarding than getting and having.

Mind, Body, Spirit – make sure your endeavours and aspirations are balanced.

Smell the Roses – on the road towards your goals and resolutions, don't forget to enjoy the journey.

Play – enjoy the life you make and don't forget to have fun!
